Possible Products and Local Jobs


Renewable energy research and development, presents councils the opportunity for new products or processes. C-PREP’s initial efforts with ZEN and the University of Adelaide concentrate primarily on wind and solar power.

Possible products will include:

  • Advanced wind turbines both horizontal and vertical
  • Turbines that are silent
  • Special fittings for both turbines and solar panels
  • Advanced electrics including generators and dynamos
  • Batteries, battery storage and charging processes
  • Software and telemetry equipment to develop smart grids


From a jobs perspective The initial C-PREP program created 3 office jobs and 24 field jobs. The field jobs are primarily electricians and some apprentices. Toolmakers, fitters and turners and engineers are further possibilities.
